About Us 2.0

OUR APPROACH

Food should be joyful — not stressful. Whether you’re cooking for comfort, curiosity, or connection, we’re here to make it feel good.

We don’t follow trends or chase algorithms. Instead, we choose with care — guided by flavour, tradition, and the kind of human instinct that moves with the seasons and listens to how food makes us feel.

Our ingredients come directly from farmers, artisans, and small producers across Taiwan — people who grow and make with purpose, pride, and skill. Just real food with soul, shaped by place and culture.

Every item is chosen with you in mind — not just because it tastes good, but because it means something.

Come eat with us — there’s a whole island to discover.

Why “Isle Provisions | 食嶼商行”?

Isle Provisions

“Isle” honours Taiwan, where our ingredients begin, and Singapore, where they’re enjoyed.

“Provisions” evokes the everyday essentials we love — pantry goods, preserves, and snacks, chosen with care and rooted in tradition.

食嶼商行

“食” — Eating is shiok.

“嶼” — An isle, a sense of place.

“商行” — A merchant’s house, connecting people through what they grow, make, and share.

Together, Isle Provisions | 食嶼商行 is a quiet tribute to food — shared across seas, and made to bring joy.

WHO WE ARE

Matt is originally from Singapore and used to work in the oil and gas sector — a job that took him to all sorts of places, mostly wherever oil was produced. He's slightly obsessed with Taiwan - these days, he’s traded Singapore Shipyards for the mountains and coastlines of Taiwan, spending time with farmers, producers, and artisans. He’s especially curious about their perspectives on life, and what it means to live and eat well.

Samuel is a Taiwanese designer who loves food, travel, and wandering through narrow streets to discover hidden spots. He’s now a licensed tour guide based in Taipei, always up for sharing good eats and good stories over whiskey. He dreams of retiring in Turkey — mostly for the kahvalti and endless Turkish tea.
