The black date & walnut soft candy is a traditional snack in Taiwan, usually eaten around Chinese New Year and had with tea. This is a modern version, with almonds and two different types of kumquat added to give the candy a citrus note. Traditional malt sugar ( made using malt and glutinous rice) has been added as a sweetener, arrowroot powder has been added to give the candy texture ( instead of cornstarch). No preservatives.
