Product Description
During the Japanese colonisation period, Changhua was famed for its groundnuts and sugar production. After the end of the WWII, the sugar companies then decided to avail the sugar to the local population to diversify their revenues. This marked the beginning of the period of creativity, where the locals began to combine sugar into local agricultural produce.
This peanut candy is reminiscient of the ones that I ate in Singapore as a kid. Its hard to find them these days. The Taiwanese version is softer to chew, has a very fragrant peanut taste and has maltose thats chewy, without sticking to the teeth. Hand made, with more than 40 years of history by Guaxiang from Changhua. Definitely a favourite with my parents!
